As someone who grew up in a c*lt and was homeschooled for said c*lt, Iโm really worried for that kid.

I followed her back in the old days and liked how honest and down to earth she was. Unfollowed a while later since I'd lost interest in makeup content in general. Didn't hear about her for years and years until all this recent stuff and was just like ๐๐๐ What the heck happened.
I am so thorn right now. Iโve been following her from the start, but only on yt, and I rarely watch anything other than those Iโm subscribed to, so I didnโt know any of this!

She Owen nobody an explanation as to why sheโs choosing to raise her children the way she wants just as no one owes her views. This left vs right bs is crazy.
People can grow and change & they donโt owe anyone an explanation. Especially social media.
I think itโs clear to see sheโs unwell since going through the emotional wave and turmoil that is becoming a new mom. And as someone who just had a little recently I canโt help but feel for her that her mental health is becoming the topic of documentaries and internet debate.

No fault of yours, this was a freaking awful way to find out that Alex has passed away. She was a lovable human being and as a viewer I will always admire her attitude and energy for her content, her life work. May she rest in pastel paradise.
Both times I've had babies, they've been technically unmedicated because i didn't have an epidural either time.
I had to be on IV antibiotics, fluid, and pitocin with my first.
With my second, i did the whole thing completely unmedicated until after he was born, when i went on pitocin because i hemorrhaged with my first.
However, if i had attempted to give birth on my own at home the first time, both of us would have probably died. I nearly died at the hospital as it was.
My body builds big babies really quickly. My first was born at 36 weeks and weighed 8 pounds 4 oz. My youngest at 36 weeks 5 days, and weighed 9 pounds 9 oz. As a result, both my boys had to go to the NICU for short stays just to support their breathing and for jaundice.
There are deep seated issues within our medical system that need fixing. But it makes me super irrationally upset when crunchy moms act like home birth is safe for absolutely everyone, let alone "better". If it works, that's great! But that's certainly not going to be the case every time for everyone giving birth.
However baby is born, if baby and parent are both healthy and happy, that's the end goal.
I remember being really happy for kristi after her son was born. I liked her videos with her husband where they talked about their garden and plants and stuff.
Unfortunately it seems like they've taken a sharp right recently and that's a huge shame. I wish there were more gardening channels that weren't alt-right crunchy trad propaganda.

She was sorta mentally stable, until she wasnโt. She has always been psychotically codependent on her husband. I think sheโs always had a couple mental/emotional issues as a youngster, becuz that kind of stuff doesnโt just pop up outta nowhere. Itโs always been there, but it most likely wasnโt prominent until something triggered it. The move is when I really started noticing her mental health decline. It was a huge change & the pregnancy just absolutely rat fuqed everything for her. She ainโt been right since then๐ฏ

Hereโs the thing- not all homeschooling families are bad news- I was homeschooled and my parents did it for reasons related to bullying and quality of education that was available. And, both of my parents had college degrees and monitored whether we were learning everything we needed to to keep up with the standard curriculum in our state. It worked out well for us. BUT, a lot of homeschoolers are doing it for extreme reasons, especially now that this trans panic bullshit is on the rise. From what I have seen growing up and up until now, most of the time reactionary homeschooling is connected to fear and control from parents. SO, while it def looks like this is the case for Kristi, you canโt always assume itโs the same for everyone that homeschools:)

Iโm also a resident in northern WA, though I donโt know where I live in relation to RBK because thatโs not my business. To provide some geographic context, yes, the population up here are generally white, and mostly conservative and Christian. Because this is a more rural area, schools are fewer and further between in general, but this is ESPECIALLY true of private schools. Where most school districts in Western Washington feed into multiple high schools, school districts in the north tend to feed into just one. While there are plenty of churches up here, there are not as many private religious schools in this area. Most of them are preschools or daycares. And a private secular school is even harder to find, a commute would 100% be required.
