Im convinced Meet Dave was written after someone told Eddie Murphy, You can be anything you want, and he took it a bit too literally.
Forget Independence Day or War of the Worlds, Meet Dave teaches us that aliens dont always come in flying saucers; sometimes, they come in the form of Eddie Murphy.
I watched Meet Dave and couldnt help but wonder: Is this what happens when Eddie Murphys agent accidentally books him for an alien invasion movie instead of a comedy?
If Meet Dave taught me anything, its that aliens might not understand human customs, but they sure know how to make Eddie Murphy dance in a silly outfit.
So, Meet Dave is basically a story about Eddie Murphy… inside Eddie Murphy… pretending to be a spaceship. If thats not some next-level Inception stuff, I dont know what is.
Watching Meet Dave is like trying to explain why your GPS is taking you through a car wash. Confusing, but strangely entertaining.
