There Is So Much FAKE HONEY in the Philippines (and Why That Needs to Change)
Honey is known for its health benefits and its sweet taste. It is used by many in their day-to-day lives, and yet it remains one of the most-faked foods in the world*. The Philippines is home to several known bee species that produce honey, but the prevalence of adulterated honey in the country remains high due to the lack of knowledge and geographical indication schemes (GI).
Join us as we delve deep into the future of Philippine honey in the heart of Palawan and learn more about how you can help local Filipino beekeepers and honey suppliers.

The langnese honey Ii bought for 250ml 500pesos was a scam then lol I still have it ๐ญ
i stop buying honey too since it's really confusing to where to get the original version since there is a lot of fake honey in the market. i really enjoy this since i saw some bees before in our house and there is a narra near my place and we have mango tree too so i hope this bees polinate our mango too.
There should be regulation in a way na kapag adulterated na ang honey, hindi nila pwedeng gamitin sa label ang term na โhoneyโ. Ang pwede lang nilang gamitin is โsyrupโ.
Holy…. "honey testing" is conducted in a Nuclear Research Institute, should it be made by FDA? Otherwise they are just going to do honey testing rather than doing research on Nuclear.
if you see expire date on the bottle, it's fake, period. ๐
It always baffles me that people think the cheap honey they are buying is a steal. It's a steal alright, it steals your health. ๐
Umiiyak ako para sa kalagayan nila. Tagos sa puso lahat ng sinasabi nila. Lord please help them
Locally harvested, UNCOOKED, is the best. I've had some that tasted like peaches.
Tatay os so joyful
Try Mindoro. The swarm of bees are supported by numerous citrus orchards.
The first thing that needs to change is paying a decent price for real quality things. People want high quality but don't want to pay for it. So in order to sell cheap people create fake honey or use sugar water outside the honey bee farms. Wild natural honey is expensive. And please don't harvest the whole honey comb. Leave some behind for the bees and their larvae. You can always go back and keep collecting.
This is a good start. Please continue to support these people and their industries. Don't support fake honeys
Ung mga pure honey tlga parang mura lng sa 300 ung isang bote noh?tingnan mu naman ang hirap ng pagkakakuha nila.,tas gantang presyohan.tas ung mga fake gantang din ang presyo nila.
This needs to be viral. Influencers do your things spread awareness thats a good content.
Can Featr/PRNI post the list of legit pure honey.
andaming fake sa lazada and shopee… parang wala namang ginagawa mga kinauukulan para matigil to
Bee ang kaybigan din ng farmer's plant pollinators
Could anyone confirm if the SM Bonus Honey is legit? Among all the cheap honey in the Philippines this is one of those that actually tastes like honey!
What happens to the bees? Do they take it all and leave nothing to the bees? It seems they took all the hive away..
You will always know what real honey bee is if you have it legitimately. My old pops grandfather always have one as he harvest it in the forest. Real Honey are thick and dark
In other countries, adulterated honey (that still contains partial real honey) is labeled as "HONEY BLEND". the FDA/BFAD/DTI or whoever should just implement this. It's going to be very hard to pull out all "honey" products… but with label changes, at least consumers will be more aware.
Canada also does this for Maple Syrup. Any syrup that has sugar mixed in is "maple flavor" and not "maple syrup"
Yan iniinom namin everyday nung bata pa kami.sa bundok kmi nakatira.father ko lng kumukuha with my other cousins.umuuwi tatay ko dami kagat ng bubuyog.
Thank you.
Thanks a great deal Erwan, for a diabetic like me, honey is the sweetener of choice and it's healthy and pure honey they say does not spoil, thanks for opening our eyes!
Wait, they don't tell us which brands are fake?
why cheat? selling artificial honey can be as lucrative as selling real honey. if the product taste good, then sell it as artificial honey and brand it. many filipinos are not wired for imagination in making money. to make money in philippines they copy each other and open a sari-sari store and most dont even make it because they allow people to credit the items and most cant pay it back.
Love Manuka Health!!! ๐
such a hard job with mediocre pay. they should learn how to raise bees and cultivate near their homes
I hope this is the start of a whole rabbit hole of how much we are being poisoned by the mainstream food industry. Start reading the ingredients in your food fellow filipinos
