Tesla Optimus Robot Explained
Tesla made quite the splash at the recent Cybercab event by showcasing its humanoid Optimus robots alongside the introduction of the new Tesla Robovan vehicle. The Optimus robots were seen walking out as part of the grand reveal, leaving quite an impression. These robots are not just for showโTesla CEO Elon Musk revealed some of their impressive capabilities. In a video, Optimus was shown performing tasks that would typically be handled by humans, like carrying a package inside from the porch and even watering plants.
During the presentation, Elon Musk emphasized just how integrated these robots could become in everyday life, saying, โThe Optimus will walk amongst you.โ According to him, you could walk right up to them, and they would serve drinks or help out in various ways. Musk further elaborated that the Optimus robot could practically do anything, including walking your dog, babysitting, or mowing the lawn. As for the price, he estimated that these robots would cost between $20,000 and $30,000 โin the long run.โ
Musk is not one to shy away from bold claims, and he declared that the Optimus could become โthe biggest product ever, of any kind.โ After the presentation, livestream footage showed event attendees interacting with the robots. While the robots were not demonstrating all their capabilities yet, they did wave to the crowd and hand out small gift bags. One of the robots even engaged in a game of rock, paper, scissors with a guest. Although the robots were not seen performing more complex tasks like serving drinks just yet, they certainly drew attention. In one part of the event, a group of Optimus robots was spotted dancing inside an enclosed gazebo, adding an element of fun to the evening.
Last year, Musk introduced a second-generation Optimus that was both lighter and faster than the original prototype. In a more recent announcement during Teslaโs April earnings call, Musk said that Optimus robots would start performing useful tasks by the end of this year and could be available for sale externally by the end of next year.
When the project was first announced in 2021, it was not taken very seriously. The introduction involved a person in a robot suit performing a lighthearted dance. However, in 2022, Tesla revealed a functional, though early-stage, prototype. Now, Musk says that Optimus could revolutionize civilization and significantly improve economic productivity, with the potential for mass production in the millions, priced around $20,000. Musk even suggested this could lead to a future without poverty.

Consider company, employees and company owners are both watching this: REMEBER: a optimus will not ask for a salary but a human will: one by one, company owners may start to find it hard to justify having human employees. Which means: Optimus wonโt be walking with you, but rather past you because you are now homeless and Optimus is doing your job for free.
If the robots are as good as the cars (especially the cybertruck), there's nothing to worry about.
You will own nothing and be happy.. Agenda 2030. Just insert the chip into your body.. sex robotic software.
Clunky but see a use that will be abused at 1:42 to 1:46.
How do you charge them
Hello there. I know this is random, but I saw your comments on one of my posts and decided to reach out to you using this private account of mine.. do well to reach out to me if you please ๐ฅฐ message me privately on my DM okay so we can talk more better okay
Can it do a naz* salute? Never muskrat
For this possible create anti hacker program which will always look to those people.
Tesla could buy road to which hacked robots could go ,for investigation
I have some health issues that make many mundane household tasks quite difficult for me. Even when I can do them, the required movements can take the energy right out of me. Sometimes (usually) the simplest tasks can require hours to days of recovery.
I look forward to Optimus cleaning my house, vacuuming, mopping, rinsing after-meal dishes and loading, then emptying my dishwasher, and maybe someday tending my robot mowers and monitoring my security cameras and sounding weather , trespass, and intrusion alerts.
Food prep and โmise en placeโ would be a wonderful, welcome addition to my robotโs task list too. lol
Worst robot ever produced ๐ฎ
What if this thing picks up a handgun ๐ฎ
Oh hell no.
Now robot works at fastfood no need for health insurance pay check workers compensation etc can work 24hours no sleep never late don't complain for 20.000$ good deal
So basically a new person I donโt want Optimus to be mistreated but thatโs inevitable for human nature I wish Optimus the best for its life
You guys realize most of this stuff was 100% canned, right? It's a robot, not an AI. people are talking about it, like it's magical but it's the same level of tech ( actually somewhat below ) Boston Dynamics.
People are crazy if they get one of this robots just a nother way for the government to watch you we already know ring cameras can be hacked anything hook up to the Internet can be hacked it a nothing to see what people are actually doing in there home by being a unstation camera is a walking camera and if you think I'm a conspiracy theory then you blind and don't watch local news with how people hacked in to people Alexis and ring cameras
As freaky as our society is now, Elon will be cashing in as ppl buy them for more than just doing your dishes. It is terrifying.
Iโve seen more impressive stuff at Chuck E. Cheese
Knowing Musk, they were probably remote controlled. If he says available for $20-$30k in 2 years, that means $60k in about 8 years, if ever.
I swear this is going to turn into Detroit: Become Human ๐ญ
I'm sorry. But the Optimus robot is a JOKE when compared to the current humanoid robots from China.
Looks fake to me – a mixture of people in robot suits and other CGI
Sugar coating evil
This is a gimmick will fail as his cars are failing, small tasks like watering your garden and serve you tea or coffee how lazy can people get and how creepy it is to have this scary looking dumbot around you and more so the thirty thousand dollars price tag
Yes 30k of utter garbage so we get fatter by not working around the house hhh man oh man
Iโll buy one if it can make me a sandwich. Thatโs my only requirement.
Can it work in the garden? What about if it comes a downpour while outside.. I've seen nothing on practical use for urban living. I'm getting old and would want one. But it would need to at least be able to work outside
This will go sideways quickly as bad actors get their hands on them
I want a humanoid robot but I can make her look like Miss March 2001
For a household, the return on investment for Teslaโs Optimus seems too low. Unlike a washing machine or a vacuum, a humanoid robot has many moving parts that will wear out quickly. Maintenance and repairs could be expensive, and its energy consumption might be significant compared to traditional household appliances. Unless it significantly improves daily life at a reasonable cost, it will remain a luxury gadget.
To be truly viable, it must offer a clear and substantial advantage to a family that owns it over one that doesnโt.
Japan makes better robots.
How much more harm than putting ypu pn the street can it get
Gimmick.
Got 3 words 4 U …..skynet, westworld and terminator.
All the labor jobs are going to be done in the next 10 years
Robot $ 30,000. City employee $ 140,000.
Bit I wonder, Would the city employee robot still required the 9 direct supervisors as todays human human city employee requires today ?
And have ice cream too?
Maybe Musk could make an army of robots to protect him from the MUSK / TRUMP haters.
I'm 83 and not a techie but I'd be interested.
I repaired robotics for IH Harvester and John Deere Harvester back 1978. That's 47 years ago. Back then they could spray paint, mig weld, stack parts. I have no idea what kind of robotics the industrial plants have available to them today. Back then one welding robot eliminated 6 welder jobs. Not to mention after they were programmed they never missed a weld. Certainly wasn't rocket science to repair them. Pul out a circuit board and plug in a new one. Then we'd send the boards in for repairs. Until i convinced them it was more cost effect to purchase the diagnostic equipment required and repair the boards in house.
Dude this is insane! Elon Musk is being the future to us. In 100 years Elon will be remembered as one of the most consequential figures in human history, maybe the most important person to ever be born.
Do they say
"DANGER WILL ROBINSON!" ?
i hope this happens in my lifetime
