Why are people below supporting social security? It's robbing people of their hard earned money. First off, you're not getting the same value dollar that you put in. Adjusted for inflation, the real purchasing power of your social security deposits is reduced by the time you get it. The inflation adjustment is a joke. Next, the cash accounts that hold social security deposits, are being devalued as we expand the money supply. Considering our deficit, supporting this program is not looking so good. Next, it is a Ponzi scheme by definition. It assumes that our workforce will be large enough and efficient enough to create enough GDP to run the program. If we have a population collapse or lack of immigration, the program would collapse.
Technically if you adjust for inflation it has already collapsed. Especially if you calculate CPI like we did in the '80s. Social security is screwing everybody financially. And now the fed considers ss as federal revenue. Why?

-I want manufacturing to come to america, but look at the numbers. We even lack the tech for processing raw materials needed for lithium ion manufacturing. Did the first rounds of tariffs by trump or biden fix the issue? Look at our deficit now. How did they help?
-Income tax is not American and for the majority of our republics' existence, we did not have it. It wasnt until central banker families from Europe created super majority in our congress to pass federal reserve act and ratified the 16th amendment. Then we had hyperinflation, especially in equities markets and then panic of 1929 and black friday, then we had great depression. There were liquidity crisises in the 1800's, and they used it as an excuse to push for central bank because the bankers of europe were screwing is over when we were a new and weak country. Then we left the gold standard and wages have been stagnent and inflation for assets has been on the rise. Why do you think your wages are the same but houses cost more.
-Taxing billionaires will not solve the deficit. Even if you taxed at 100% rate for everyone. And that would cause money velocity to plummet. Which would decrease government revenue. The best economy is one with the least amount of taxes possible.
-Europe could not afford socialized healthcare if america was not funding nato. We pay for them to have that healthcare. We also babysit Europe so they dont fight, which they have always done.
-During pandemic we printed 80% of total money supply in 22 months. And today, we are printing even more. Look at the current deficit. It is not foreign debt either, we owe most of it to ourselves. We sell ourselves bonds.
-Politicians wont make a difference. Whether you vote for one party or another, the debt keeps going up.
-Many countries are getting tired of the cost of using american dollars. Read about what we actually did in iraq, libya with gadaffi, afghanistan and vietnam. Just read the basic history and you will see what happened. We are an empire that sells debt. We also export our inflation to other countries and control these areas with military bases.
-I mention the deficit because that is why the administration wants to use them. To pay down the deficit. And in theory, reshore american manufacturing. But think about all the other recent tariffs. Did they work? Look at our deficit today.
-If america bombed the living heck out of your country, would you want to support america and trade with them? Look at global exports of china. They are trading with everyone. Do they need us?
Simple – If we can’t control those under our roof – we can’t control our world.

america is powerful not only because of the dollar but by its corporations. tesla, google, apple, microsoft and many more… sure, manufacturing is done abroad but its to make the cost of labor cost more favorable, and in return, cheaper for American citizens. not to mention semiconductors. majority of the ownership is america. all of which the world relies on. so america is still powerful even if trump did not impose the tariff. i think the tariff will make products less affordable for american citizens. sure it will make manufacturing go to america again but products will be less affordable.

You're missing a much bigger issue. Even if you brought the factories back the "men" of Will's generation (Gen Z) aren't the type of men who will eat lunch on an I-beam 200 feet in the air or work nights as the slag skimmer at a steel factory.

Your points are moot! Two reasons. The biggest cost of production in ten years is ocean freight. Labor "worldwide" will be $2.50hr in a few years due to AI, Robotics and Humanoids. And the intelligence to catch up will be like only a few weeks or months. You have never used AI agents yet. Many engineers are now cancelled by the minute due to AI. (look at software engineers and how they have been replaced by AI in just few years)

in a decade or two the boomer generation will die off – and there are a lot of them. social security, if it exists then, will still be viable… unfortunately, we have to get there first.
processing can be onshored, as can manufacturing – those are just a matter of time. manufacturing at scale in America is why Europe isnt under a German yoke (not sure it was ever going to last long, certainly not "1000 years"). "rare earth" elements arent all that rare and the USA has a lot of deposits. unfortunately we also have the EPA.
innovation? well, we can just copy the current tech & improve on it – not difficult at all – for example, the newest solar cell tech (from Mexico, this week), Cu2BaSn(S,Se)4, contains 0% silicon and those are all very common elements.
