It's always been a false narrative by large companies. Finding the skilled workers offshore meant the quality would take a downturn for a few years. It costs billions, to move major production lines offshore, but they look at eventual long-term labor savings.
They are hoping that customers will put up with the subpar equipment, while local dealerships will be stuck fixing the problems until the new workers become proficient.
Hopefully this will be a major eye opener to corporations. That we allow business to flourish because it benefits everyone not just stockholders and CEOs.

this is a result of not acknowledging that humans must live within Gods limits. profits are acceptable but to monopolise manipulate oppress for unlimited unending profits is sick. greed is anti human.anti society anti peaceful prosperity. the american dream must clearly define the boundaries of success.
There is Greed within every ethnic and economic social substrate.
Of course there is greed in Capitalism as well as in Socialism/Comunism and you can find it in so called saintly paradises as "Cuban government", Brazil, Nicaragua, Iran, North Corea, a dozen African countries, Bolivia, Argentina before the current President Javier Milei.
You can also find greed & corruption in the new socialist woke government's in UK, Spain, France, etc.
When you sacrifice a long term company for short term profits to shareholders. American businesses are doomed by their own greed.
One of the problems: Shareholders can sue a company if it doesn't do everything to maximise profit. So even if a company WANTS to produce in the States but has the opportunity to produce cheaper somewhere else, it has to make these changes.

You Americans praise the free market as the highest good and condemn any government interference. But when a company pursues its capitalist interests, you start complaining.
Do the proponents of capitalism perhaps believe that a company imposes limits on itself for the benefit of the people 🤣?
A big role in the downfall is owed to the fact that farmers can no longer do repairs on their own equipment. In case of a breakdown, the equipment turns into a brick and only an expensive John Deer service worker can reset the machine. It might take days. In the meantime the farmers lose their harvest or miss deadlines which are costly, can even ruin their business. Yes, the operation of John Deere equipment is no longer something that helps farmers get the job done, it rather is taking the risk of putting your self and your farm to the mercy of John Deere.
American capitalism exploits poor countries until their living standards rise to the point where they can no longer be exploited and then you move onto the next foreign country and start exploiting those people. Your company executives and shareholders all rejoice at the profits until you realise that you have no manufacturing left in your own country and then your fake President blames everybody else in the world. Who was that wise sage who said, "Greed is good" On yes, it's the American way where everything thing is bigger and better – until the shit hits the fan.
For those who voted for the orange child, how is it going for you? You cannot complain, those of us who did not can!
Corporate greed isn't confined to the agricultural industry, just look at Tesla!.

I don't think it harms Americans if they outsource, This is a dangerous notion that may be pushing you backwards. An extreme example would be = "Ok, let us quit agro machines altogether and work the farms with our bare hands. This will create many jobs!". I hope you get my point.
