How David Made His Alien

How did David make his version of the Alien? Also called the Praetomorph, or Protomorph, the Alien he created in Alien Covenant in almost like Xenomorph XX121, but not quite yet the Perfect Organism. Lets explore how he made the Alien through his Lab, and his drawings and notes as seen in the…

  1. wish we'd actually got to see the early versions of the xenomorph before getting to the full thing. The Neomorph was way too different to be the last stage before perfecting the full on xenomorph (idc what people say, there is no 'protomorph' that's a cope to explain why the Covenant design was bad. It's called a xenomorph in the script)

  3. I bought the artbook edition of the blu-ray just for these drawings! I loved seeing the behind the scenes footage with Adam Savage, and the level of effort they put into them. No roll of paper on set was blank. I just wish we got to see more of it on film.

  4. This is absolutely incredible work. I love every episode and honestly since our last conversation this is exactly what I needed! Youโ€™re the #1 alien franchise Channel! I just wish this video was longer :(

  5. Great video! I really enjoyed exploring some of the prequel lore, and your explanations are very well thought out and presented. I will have to check out more of your back catalogue.

As a prequel fan, I'm all for David being the creator of the bio-mech Xenomorphs. Everything in the prequels and David's art book point to this being the case.

I don't think the Romulus connection disproves David as the creator either. The Z01 pathogen is derived from the Xenomorph, but if this compound is a variation of the black goo and both are distinct, it means the bio-mech Xenomorph may not pre-exist David. Rook could have essentially recreated the compound that was David's final product, the true bio-mech Xenomorph juice.

Basically, we need the 3rd prequel to finish Davids story, and maybe even cement the origin of the Xenos as well. I would also love it if David was the space jockey! It would be such a full circle moment.

  6. David created a VARIANT of the Xenomorph, NOT the Xenomorph. The backlash of dumbing down the origins of the Xenomorph as a lame created generic mutant monster instead of an ancient alien species in both PROMETHEUS and A. COVENANT, the Officially Canon RPG game gave scientifically coded names for the species, both the variant artificial ones, and the natural ones. The original natural Xenomorph (As created by ALIEN creator and writer, Dan O'Bannon) is Plagiarus Praepotens, the variant artificial ones like the Neomorph is Plagiarus Celerius and the other artificial one, the Praetomorph (wrongly called the Protomorph) is Plagiarus linesteres.

This was even canonized in ALIEN ROMULUS when the Ash type Android Rook refers to the first movie original Xenomorph as "Xenomorph XX121, Plagiarus Praepotens" as in the RPG which predated the ROMULUS movie. So David created an artificial VARIANT of the Xenomorph, NOT the Xenomorph.

  7. "how david made his alien"
Well, a bad scripter handed a bad script to a hack director, who then proceeded to vomit all over the xenomorph's legacy and create a trash heap of a movie :D There we go, fixed that for you (sorry won't ever forgive ridley for allowing xenomorphs back story to be changed in to another one of his "i hate humanity waaaaah im gonna ruin my movies cuz i hate them so much and they suck waaaaah" childish tantrums.

  8. Just so I'm clear here, David developed the facehugger based on the already existing facehugger of Engineer design? Or he developed the facehugger of his own design?

  9. Xenomorph heads are penises. If you studied Giger you would know he was into nude drawings. You can see in his original work the alien is based on the curved shaft going back from their mouths. The teeth are the base. Growing out and away from it is the head

  10. I also thought he was never the creator of the Xenomorphs. You could see in Prometheus a decon or something similar on the wall in wall art of the ship. I think he made an off shoot of the Xenomorphs, just look how skinnier and more organic his looked. I still consider Shaw a prototype queen in a way.

  11. One thing I dont understand is how we went from calling it 'Protomorph' (which makes sense – the 'first' form, even though it might not be the first, but its more 'primordial') to calling it 'Praetomoroph' (which doesnt make sense??)

  12. Now if they could've explained even a little of this in the movie it could've made so much more sense especially to the general audience. Other than the AvP schlock Covenant was just such a letdown.๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿคฆ

  13. I really wish they would make a 3rd and final prequel just to get closure on the story. Then they could make more "Romulus" type spinoffs if they want. The story is fascinating.
