the only conclusion ive come to in all the recent advances is one has to learn to use AI, even for the most mundane of tasks, because soon it will be 'normal' in one way or another. we must use every method at our disposal to keep up with the digital mind, which realistically is already light years ahead of us, if we do not find a way to stay ahead of the curve so to speak, regular folk that put no water in these things will come to depend completely on the Mind to think and live for them. this is the part where you'll have to fight for your rights. That's funny that google has just “recently started integrated AI assisted responses into their search feature.” Brave browser has been doing it for at least a decade now.
There is no specific timeline mentioned for when SearchGPT will become free to use like other internet browsers.
The fact that they're partnering up with these major content factories actually makes me think I will be getting biased search results (first the partners, then the rest). A bit like the streaming services: they all have their deals with certain production companies. I you want Marvel movies, you have to go to streaming service X. If you want Sony Pictures, you go to Y. So for now I'm happily sticking to Perplexity for my search needs.
