I could see Air travel may resume to 'selected counties' only, but not to the entire world… Particularly those poorer ones who will never escape COVID.

In hindsight, we will realize that it is folly to EVER trust your government, especially one that steps forward as a self-appointed global arbiter over EVERYTHING. It has become apparent that the disease control aspect has devolved into a vehicle to push through the long-held political and economic beliefs of a select group of powerful people. Air travel is just one of many things that we are being told we “shouldn’t” need in light of the pandemic, and in the pursuit of “building back better”.
Due to covid quarantine tickets sales will be down this year or longer; you cannot save the airlines with free 8 billion dollars from the government.
It's a political game, get the politician to fix this.

governments will not bail airliners out yet under ICAO regulations all aircraft still need to be inspected and cleared for flight before every departure in worldwide airports be it domestic and/or international movements.

The reality is, the Covid scamdemic will not go away, so the future of Airlines and Cruise ships is no longer a Government concern as the money tree is dead. To expect Governments to keep bailing out industries is no longer affordable as tax payers face massive unemployment.
Climate change activists are jumping for joy as Air travel collapses and Cruise ships head for the breakers yard. A huge reduction in fuel use and with Travel in Australia being shut down to motorists as borders close, the Greens are getting what they want. Now sales of Coal and Iron ore will fall as China spits the dummy so mining will face huge reductions…..Happy days for far left as the economy and lifestyle crash.
