SUPERNOVA Explosion Caught On Telescope 🔭 💥 #shorts #space #supernova
The supernova, SN 2015F, occurred in the galaxy NGC 2442 in early March 2015, at a distance of about 80 million light years from Earth. Daily footage from February 2015 to October 2015 was combined to create the video.
A supernova is a very bright stellar explosion that occurs when a star reaches the end of its life. This releases an enormous amount of nuclear energy and can briefly outshine an entire galaxy.
The images were taken with a 17-inch robotic telescope in Australia. Analysis suggests that this explosion was possibly caused by the interaction between a white dwarf star and a main sequence star 0.1 to 1.0 times the size of the Sun. Enjoy!
