Solar Panels: Understanding Series & Parallel Connections (Quick Video)
In Series voltage adds up and Amps stay the same
In Parallel voltage stays the same and Amps add up
It is important to stay withing the wattage, voltage and amperage specifications of your charge controller / solar pump controller. If you don’t do this you will damage your solar equipment. This is a very quick video to explain the concept.

For connecting series of 2 120 v solar panels, how do I connect a positive from he 1st panem to the negative on the 2nd solar panel? A fuse or a + –
Mc4??
Good work
Still clueless.
Which is better?
You have saved me a lot with this video for knowledge simply isn't free anywhere, acquired knowledge pays the bills
Which way is best? I hear the series is better with mppt controller. Right? Thank you
80 w solar panels hai 40w solar panels
What if the solar panel wasn't equal to each other?
I dont know much solar panels but if I have two 100 watts solar panels and I get someone to connect them for me in parallel for usage on my solar generator, after connecting them in parallel will I get a total of 200 watts coming from the sun to charge my solar generator? My solar generator has maximum amp of 8.5. If the amps double after connecting in parallel will this damage my solar generator??
Great work i really appreciate you work in easy ways
I have 2 panel but my inverter support 90v. 1 panel give me 42v can i conect 2 panel with my inverter or not
I'm a beginner how do I connect 2 panels together with 220A battery and which charge controller do I use, I need more light on it please!
Can you take the same 2 panel's and connect them in series and parallel.?
Thanks. Saved me 20$. I was thinking it's the other way around and started looking in to 1 to 3 splitter. No need
OK, connecting in series I get it…but how do I connect the remaining two wires TO the charge controller. Most charge controllers I'm familiar with do not have a receptacle to directly plug in the MC4 connector. Do I cut off the connectors, strip the wire and then attach them to the controller?
Wonderfully
Very interesting 0:41
So the Watts always adds up, no matter what the connections are?
Simple and so helpful. Thanks for yur time doing this video.
I have 1 glass type 100 watt panel from Renege, and a 200 Wall AllPower flexible panel that I want to link up for our Ecoflow Battery generator.
Hi, in layman's language…i have two solar flood lights with two panels but unfortunately one panel died. Can i connect the two lights to the one panel remaining? Thanks, Jay
