Got it
ALWAYS! Make sure that your batteries are hooked to controller BEFORE, you hook up panels, very important.
So what’re doing with it? Is it going to “There’s a Way”?
Keep your solar panels away from mossad
I have that SunSaver at my shop.
1 panel, 1 battery and some LEDs
that come on at night. Works great.
Nice!

Never set your battery directly on the ground… The ground sucks the juice straight from them!! Sit them on blocks of wood!!
Wonder if making a solar towable trailer to bring around to projects w/ tool storage compartments would be worth it. Interchangeable to skiis in the winter ofcourse
So you are putting 24v of DC power into 2 batteries wired in series, you are getting 22v dc out from one battery. Seems to be wasting the second battery
I know nothing at all about any of this, but I am intrigued you consider pretty old batteries to be useful.
Damn Jessie .you got a hundred 100 acres?
You know the ground or concrete drains Batteries right. So out them on a board
Wait we saw you complaining about Optima. Note: Optima red tops are not used for solar. Not deep cycle. You are the problem. Why we don't warrant batteries
Doesn't 12 volts just mean that you can buy a car accessory? Or do they use 9v?
Is the smaller array for power tools for the homestead you're building?
I totally thought this was going to will lol. He should consider getting a similar set up for himself I'm sure it would be great.
what would you use this to power?
Is solar power more dependable than wind power probably a lot easier than putting a giant windmill on your land. I love answering my own questions😂
Where is the new/old system going to ?
Taking sunlight to the bank
Always want solar someone else. Sounds like a good excuse to build an ATV trailer that’s set up as a mobile mini solar plant
Think you should make a small wagon with the batteries, controller, and the panels on top. Replete with a Minion harness as that dog needs to start working more — all this plushie model work is beginning to get to his head.
Put some proper connectors on the end of those wires going into that charge controller if you can
@Narrowayhomestead
Hey Nate. I got a small solar panel (small foldup type) years ago after my dad pass away.
When I tried to use it, nothing would happen. I called the manufacturer and was told if a panel is kept in storage for to long with no sunlight the panel will die.
Have you ever run into something like that?
Also if I get a small panel like yours and use an old car battery will that work or would a specific type of battery work better?
Take it down to will he'd be extremely happy
Please crimp your wire ends and don’t just leave strands.
This isn’t a „you’re doing it wrong nyeee im an expert“ comment, this is a „it would be so much nicer looking if you did“ comment
With the little solar arrays, you can scatter them, and if your battery in your 4-wheeler dies, you can go and either steal a battery from the array, or jumpstart it to get back to where you need to
Where did you get that water proof box?
Did you ever think about wind energy maybe?
Can't you put the solar panel on the roof it can collect more sun rays and a solar backup battery😅
doesnt leaving batteries on the ground drain them?
@will survive needs this
You could set up an auto turret with that setup.
It's always neat to look back to see where you started. Thanks for sharing!
Are you selling it to Will?
Hi just two save your battery’s don’t put them on the ground place them on a piece of wood
if placed on the damp ground or concrete, the battery can self-discharge
We all know minion is off camera actually installing and making the whole solar array work,
Nice basic build.
There is another YTer who built a solar charged golf cart with an imverter to run his tools where ever he was on the property.
A solar wagon that could be towed around might also be useful.
i'm so grateful for this channel!
i've been suffering with severe depression for the last two decades, and i found it really difficult to get up and do things.
now, thanks to y'all, i have a small garden that gives me a reason to get up every day, and i've learned so many important things that i never otherwise would've learned without this channel! thank you! ❤
