Yeah, California has a web site so that you can see how many top prizes are left on all tickets. You can also scan you own tickets with your phone to make sure you didn't overlook a winner. I always check mine before I throw them away. I have also noticed that when they put out a new game, they don't start paying out the top prizes until they've been out for awhile. The most I've won is $1000.00 four separate times on a $30.00 game.
I bought a scratch off last week for the first time in a while. It was 30 bucks and i won $ 50,000…i was so excited and it was sureal….then i woke up had to take a shower and go to work.

This is very important. You should check online and see how many top prizes are left. I see the states are getting greedy and cutting back on the number of tickets with the top prize. At some point it might make more sense to get a mega lottery ticket instead.
