Scientists have found new but tentative evidence that a faraway world orbiting another star may be home to life.
A Cambridge team studying the atmosphere of a planet called K2-18b has detected signs of molecules which on Earth are only produced by simple organisms.
K2-18b is two and a half times the size of Earth and is seven hundred trillion miles away from us.
This is the second, and more promising, time chemicals associated with life have been detected in the planet’s atmosphere by Nasa’s James Webb Space Telescope (JWST).
But the team and independent astronomers stress that more data is needed to confirm these results.

Let me answer this for literally everyone. Yes, there is life on the planet. I’m so tired of seeing people on articles like this saying “possible” life. No it is life. It isn’t that hard to think about.
So let’s think smart, and logical guys!
Earth produces DMS, and DMS is a type of gas that is only possible to be made by micro plankton which is a living organism. And K2-18b produces the same exact gas that Earth produces (DMS). And since it has micro plankton in it, then that means K2-18b has micro plankton on the planet. Meaning K2-18b has Alien life. It doesn’t matter if it’s just a little or small signal. If it’s the same exact gas then the planet has life. That’s it. This is way too much evidence to prove Alien life exists on the planet.
