Molting, Vibration, and Sound Transmission: Biology in Star Trek Discovery Season 5 Episodes 5-6

In today’s episode, we talk about biology in episodes 5 and 6 of Star Trek: Discovery season 5, including seasonal plumage in various bird species, soft-shelled crab exoskeletons, and long-distance communication in elephants. We also talk about the use of sound and vibrations in various health applications. On the production side, we talk about the themes of second-chances, characters moving on or developing further, the revelation of the Breen, and more on the outstanding performances by the cast as well as excellent visuals in the show more generally.
