Maximizing Off Grid Solar Energy Efficiency with Parallel East-West Solar Panel Arrays #offgrid

Are you unable to install solar panels on a north-facing roof? Or perhaps your home or business has a flat roof? Fear not! An east-west solar panel configuration might be the perfect solution for you. By installing solar panels on both east and west-facing surfaces, you can reap several benefits:

Consistent Energy Production: Unlike north-facing solar panels that generate a sharp peak of power during the day, east-west arrays produce energy over a longer period. In the morning, east-facing panels kick in, followed by west-facing panels later in the day. This results in a flatter energy production curve, allowing you to match your solar energy use to your lifestyle1.

Reduced Grid Impact: East-west arrays distribute energy more evenly throughout the day. If you’re away from home during work hours, this configuration ensures less energy is fed back into the grid. When you return home, the west-facing panels provide power for your evening needs. Say goodbye to excessive grid reliance and hello to savings1!

More Panels, More Output: While each east-west panel may generate slightly less power individually, the ability to fit more panels into this configuration leads to higher overall production. You’ll get more bang for your buck, especially if space is limited2.

Cost-Effective Installation: East-west arrays allow for back-to-back positioning, reducing the space between rows. This efficient use of space means you can install more modules without compromising output. Plus, the cost of racking for east-west arrays is often lower than traditional south-facing setups3.

Whether you’re considering residential or commercial solar panels, an east-west configuration could be your ideal energy solution. So, embrace the sun from both sides and enjoy the benefits of a well-balanced solar system! 🌞🔌🏡

  1. Nice to see you in front if the camera for a change. Quick question, is it possible to to get power out of the multiplus AC out 2 from the batteries and not from the shore/external generator feed? I think AC out 2 has a programmable relay and it would be cool to connect a something like an electric water boiler to it and let it only power on when the batteries are full
