Waaaaaaaaaaauuuuuu 👍👍
I found it interesting that nearly all the planes are red.
That tapestry would look great in the EAA museums Lindbergh exhibit.
Been looking for an MGA Coupe. Is that for sale or just the beautiful planes?
@ 2:16 that old Cushman Scooter is cool… Whats amazing and sad at the same time is most of these items he has had his entire life… it must be hard having to sell them which he knows he is at the point that he finally has to let them go due to his age and the reality that he is at the end of this life… That white New Yorker station wagon he has owned since 1965… (60 years) the planes he bought when he was 16 and 18 years old… just WOW
Finally a competent mechanic, this is who should be able to write the million dollar complaint to the city I need
I have the exact same taste in planes, cars and motorcycles as this man.
This is ONE HEARTWARMING video!
Thanks for the show. That era has the most beautiful aircraft and yours are impeccably restored.👍
amazing collection
I've had the pleasure of meeting a few chaps like Al with collections like that in Ca, always welcoming and amazingly talented and knowledgeable. I just knew he'd have a Porterfield, what a superb example, a lot shinier than mine!
Were I a pilot and man of means, I'd give just about anything he wanted for the QDC WACO. I went to a fly-in in St. Louis back in about 2007 where there were at least 30 WACO's of all types and they all looked as good as that one. I got to go for rides in several of them. This hangar is a step back in time, a flying museum. Thanks for the tour. I hope all these planes find a home with owners as caring as Alan is.
Mark…..You need to take a trip back home for retraining on the correct pronunciation of “aluminium” 😉
Old guys rule!
Don't even look up the printer inflation adjustment on the original price of that Waco. It'll make you cry… it's so low compared to new light aircraft prices today
An incredible man…
Had the privilege of hanging out with Alan at his hangar in Fresno for years. Would always hang out just watching airplanes and admiring his beautiful collection. He had a Meyers OTW that was beautiful as well, that he traded/sold for a Yak-18/CJ-5 if my memory serves me right. It was restored with the same care he had with those still in his hangar.
Hello from Indiana Alan!!!
My dad owned a 1948 Emigh Trojan, N8323H, in the 60's. They only made about 50 of them. His is in a museum in Oregon and is maybe the only one left. It has external ribs on the wings and looks a bit like an Ercoupe. If you could find one I bet you'd love to do a video on it. This video is incredible, I really enjoy your channel.
It is such a treat to meet people like Alan. He's so humble and quiet in his knowledge. We need to learn and listen from these guys because they won't be around forever and all those thing they know will be lost. Sit them down, turn on the recorder, and let them talk for as long as they want.
Best video yet.
Amazing mark!
Fantastic tour of aviation past. Thank you for sharing.
I’d be interested in one of those “wall art” props.
He is the best neighbor there is! Love his collection he took my two boys around and showed all the toys he has in cases
wow
$5900 in 1932 is $140,000 today……what is the cost of a new Waco? don't ask.
They don't make 'em like that anymore. Man or plane. What a wonderful video.
There was a Ryan PT 22 with a continental 220 hp radial in a Stroudsburg PA for years disassembled at the airport. NXII I think was the N number. They flew it in air shows in the 60s.
this gentleman makes me chuckle. “how’d you build this?, I just got in there and did it…” haha
Wow. Just wow. I love watching Skywagon University but this, this is transcendental. Simply amazing. There are terrific collections out there but I don't think I've seen one of this calibre all restored by one person. Truly the heart and soul of general aviation. How do we bottle this and make more?
Wow, what an enthusiastic gentleman. Nice collection.
Magnificent !
What a Treat !
Fliver was slang for the model t.
Beautiful collection and what a talented gentleman👍
This gentleman is amazing. He has had an amazing life. Hope for many more amazing years.
Amazing fellow.
this guy needs to be passing on all that knowledge! or it leaves with him when he goes … anytime a old man passes on a library burns to the ground.. and he has knowledge of these airplanes no one else dose… please pass it on
Great video and no phone ringing. Well done!!!
Thank you for taking the time to share this with us. Those older gentlemen are a real jewel.
♥♥ 🙂 ♥♥ Beautiful History ♥♥ 🙂 ♥♥
Just amazing. It would a hoot to keep the whole thing together and attach a fly-in burger joint to it. But dang, cool planes – and the Culver Vee; what a cool plane!
This was great. What a fantastic mentor he must be to young aviators.
Thanks, Mark
Kinda depressing when newcomers to Aviation dosent know much about old planes. Just yesterday some Navy guy couldent make a fifference about Grumman Cougar or Panther.
What an amazing man he is, and we are not making his kind anymore. My Dad would have loved to know him as he flew these back in the day.
That is an amazing collection that is worthy of any museum. What a talent that man has
I’m drooling over the motorcycles he has sitting around. Regarding the ‘planes, just owning one of them would be impressive.
Old timers like this are a national treasure. The amount of knowledge is always amazing.
17:55 There was a duck in there somewhere.
Truly incredible. They don’t make guys , or planes like that anymore.
Thanks for the show Alan, very impressive.
Wow! What an amazing craftsman!!!
