In this session, Joel Odero, a Research Scientist based at the Ifakara Health Institute, explored the first-ever discovery of knock-down resistance in Anopheles funestus mosquitoes. This has been linked with resistance to the insecticide DDT in Tanzania, with evidence pointing to a legacy of DDT pollution in the area.
