This is why LandRover sales are falling! The product has been overhyped. This is supposed to be their "Most Capable SUV Ever" , yet it doesn't have (as a minimum) proper independently locking rear and centre differentials, all terrain tyres AND a full-sized spare wheel as standard! All of the TV adverts show it in snow or driving up PAVED mountain roads – unlike a LandCruiser that is shown doing proper stuff like crossing streams and jungles and climbing up REAL mountains and hills often at speed! This Discovery is a design execrise for poseurs at best and a fraud at worst. Get rid!
1:37 the rear diff seems to lock automatically. Are the locking diffs on the discovery fully automatic or do they need to be locked by the driver like in the w463?
I’m not sure I understand why this video starts with a ‘Do not attempt, professional driver’…. why would I buy a locking rear differential if I didn’t want to go up a gentle grassy slope? Hardly looks daring nor dangerous from where I’m sitting!
