All for the LOVE of Airplanes! Great story teller! There's a Bucker Yungmeister In the Smithsonian that was owned by famous aerobatic pilot, Bevo Howard, and performed in many airshows in early 60's. Interesting thing about airplane it was imported to the U.S. from Germany aboard the Hindenburg!

I’m barely at the 911 in the tour but can’t help but see the pain of Mr. Charles back. I recognize the walk. His arms move a bit, and his head moves around, but from his shoulders down to his hips it stays stationary as possible. I am sorry if that’s not correct, but if it is I am sorry as well. Spine injuries are some of the worst things to have to deal with and I wish it was possible to just cut out all the damaged area and have e it all replaced! Even when you get screws and rods installed, they only say the last for 15-20 years even then it may not stop the pain. And it puts added stress on the vertebrae above and below, creating a need to increase the fused joints over time. Ive wondered sometimes if instead of my back it was my foot what would I do? If it meant no more pain at all, I would choose to have my leg cut off at the knee. In a heartbeat!! I would do it myself if I could stay awake through the pain and blood loss. I’m going in to get the nerves burnt that’s supposed to end the pain from my Lumbar down to my feet, I guess we’ll see how that goes. It would be nice to not take 20 medications every day…. But after all the different things that have supposed to end the pain in the past I’ve grown a bit skeptical.

Jimmy, this is a wonderful video. I really enjoyed it. thank you. If you would love to see more aviation history from back in the day, head up to Ct. and see if you can get into Sikorsky Aircraft. Igor was making fixed wing before he invented the Helo and there is a ton of history to be found there. I was an employee there for 32 years and I have met and spoken to his son several times. They are a fantastic family.

Just a couple of corrections, 'Bucker' is pronounced more like Buukker, it's difficult to write phonetically in English, but it doesn't sound like 'Byooker', also, the aerobatic experts of the thirties tended to use the Bu 133 Jungmeister, the more compact single seat version, which was mostly powered by the Siemens-Halske Sh.14A-4 160hp 7 cylinder radial. The Jungmann two-seater tended to be powered by the Hirth HM 504, a 100hp 4 cylinder inline inverted engine, although many today have been converted to modern flat fours, as has the one in this video. The Jungmann has the excellent control harmonisation but not the power of the Jungmeister, which remained the world's preeminent aerobatic biplane until the Pitts S-1 came along.

My dad re-built a rare 4 seat Curtiss Robin in the mid 50s. He sold it and now it is in a museum in North Carolina. Sadly he sold it before I was born because I would love to have flown it.
