  1. I’m gonna rank the alien films I’ve watched in order.

    1. Alien | 9.5/10 (I can’t decide between Aliens and Alien but for now, it’s Alien, It does what jaws did by keeping the monster hidden and lurking in the shadows. Overall, one of my favourite films of all time.)

    2. Aliens | 9/10 (Loved it, its more action oriented rather than horror, and I wish there was more horror in it, that doesn’t take it away from it being a fantastic film.)

    3. Alien Romulus | 8.8/10 (No Spoilers Romulus is a Great film with the tense horror of the first film, and the fun action of the second film. No joke, the Ending is INSANE. I would recommend)

  2. I always gave Alien 3 a pass but i mostly watched the assembly cut. The theatrical version is really sloppy and boring. Most of the characters are forgettable and unlikeable.

  3. The Xenos have always been smart, they just didn't have any opportunities to really show it before Resurrection. Just take a look at how Big Chap stalks and picks off the Nostromo crew one by one, or how the Queen understands Ripley's threats.

  4. I was totally gutted when Newt and Hicks were written out of the series.

Even Hudson deserved more screen time.

They went the wrong direction with the series.

They should have had the three characters live on as a family in which they were thrown into conflict with the company who were still trying to control the Aliens.

They could have made a far more interesting.

I think Alien Resurrection was better than Alien 3 though.

  5. every time I see someone misunderstand alien 3 I feel so let down. its slow, the themes are deep and dark….its got more in common with Wicker Man and Andrei Tarkovsky than it does anything else you'd expect from the franchise

  6. One thing you get wrong about Prometheus is that they do not even slightly leave the Engineers open ended. From when they learn that humans are an exact DNA match with them to the scene where the captain character literally dumps everything onto Shaw, "we were created by them, but then they wanted to kill us this planet was a military installation and this is where they keep the super weapon they were going to use to wipe us out but I guess it turned on them we CANNOT let it leave this planet." I'm paraphrasing but honestly word for word he figures out the Engineers before they even find the last one and wake him up.

  7. Totally disagree with your ranking. I'd go: 1) Alien 2) Aliens 3) Alien Resurrection 4) Alien 3 5) Prometheus 6) Alien Covenant 7) Alien Romulus. Alien Resurrection is so underrated and I couldn't disagree more that Alien 3 'looked ugly'. Also Alien Romulus was God awful, in my opinion. For me, it officially died with the line "Get away from her, you… bitch…?" I mean, that didn't even make sense. Say what you will about Alien Resurrection, but never before has the franchise broken the fourth-wall in favour of fan-service so shamelessly.

  8. Romulus is a movie for people who don't want to think and love super hero movies. The call backs to other movies was out loud funny (NOT in a GOOD Way). Lot's more CGI than they promised "back to basics", no not really. Just write a GOOD original story!!

  9. The original Alien is great but it's not the best film ever made no. If you watch a film and see things you would have done differently or moments of special effect flaws – it takes you out of the film. Things are nearly flawless but it's that 5% that leaves a mark, almost like acid on skin – the rest of your body is fine but that spot stings. Yes there are a few amazing characters and for the most part, special effects are undoubtedly incredible and gruesome, but it's not peak. If 2001 didn't exist I would say sure, but a lot of what Alien tried to establish was done almost 2 decades prior and for that reason it's outclassed (besides the xenomorph concept ofc and we can thank Giger for that).

  10. 8:18 well if you think abt it, it makes sense that she’s stronger in the second film I mean in the first she was like wtf is going on, and in the second one she kinda knows what they dealing with and she’s had time to realize what’s going on thus her boosted strength
