  1. Sorry but solar doesn't save you money, it is just an extra protection layer during power outages. Solar is useless without a good size battery. During Beryl, lots of people with solar had to run power generator during night time because the grid was down. Ideally, your system should be around 1/4 of your day time power usage (could be less if you have more roof surface area facing south) and battery size needs to be able to provide power for 2-3 days without sun. It's a good idea for those who has the money and tired of Centerpoint's reliability. One should not go into Solar thinking about saving money.
