Hitler’s Lost U-Boat
In the fall of 1991, in the frigid Atlantic waters sixty miles off the coast of New Jersey, deep shipwreck divers made a startling discovery: a World War II German U-Boat.

These old ships and u-boats are starting to disintegrate. We need to do more of these dives before time runs out.
The men who found U-869 believed it was a victim of her own torpedo, which may have become a "circle-runner". Torpedoes manufactured later in the war had acoustical seeking capability. It was theorized that the torpedo was initially fired in a turning pattern and when it missed her target, it picked up the sound of the submarine's propeller.
20 minutes of talking about compression sickness and then a couple brief minutes about the actual boat. No information on it being hitlers. No info at all on the boats history. Not a great video
Interessante ritrovamento, anche i relitti hanno una loro STORIA!!!
I read something about this his son was trying to get a souvenir and something fell on him and became trapped his dad died trying to save him
Enigma – please note that the Polish encryption bureau cracked the enigma as such already earlier in the 1930s and passed their findings on to the British who followed up. The original information had been in the hands of the French who had a German (brother to a general) disclosing essential information. They gave the information to the Poles as they had specialists.
I could not do what these Guys do , massive Respect for Them ..Great Vid.
Diving in Caves kills a lot more people
What a fantastic presentation, throughly enjoyed every second of it.
Diving explained in a laymans fashion.
Explained so much so informative.
The videos underwater were so crystal clear.
I have been fascinated by submarine history for many years.
Warched previously a video were the man who worked for so many years to correctly identify the sub.
They retrieved a steel box containing cutlery where a persons name was scratched into the knife handle.
The name belonged to the captain but was refuted as that U Boat was reported sank in the Caribbean area.
Turns out this sub was sent radio message that was never received to sail to the Caribbean.
Knife turned out to be a clincer in solving the mystery.
Superb video.
Suggest you look up other earlier video on this submarine.
great video, cannot listen to music on a military ep!
It was Alan Turin who cracked the Enigma code, and he was an Englishman but I'm sure you knew this ๐. Thanks for deep sea diving tutorial ๐

The box with 869 on it could've been borrowed from another boat.
Totally click bait
Maybe it was the 1 that Hitler supposedly escaped in!…..

Great video but there is soooooo much more to this story. Look for the PBS special, "Hitler's Lost Sub…..it's a 2 hour documentary about finding the U-869.
That's the best show I have watched in a very long time thanks
Diving the UC65 at 50m on just a 23% nitro mix I noticed sailors swimming in & round the side of the boat & knowing it was a hallucination I just carried on but knew I was in danger as a solo diver out at seaโฆit was amazing to be there looking down the hatch as only a few people have ever done since it sunk..itโs like being in a museum that only a few people are allowed to ever go & nothings changed since it sunk.
Bits & pieces here scraps & on so many levels you fail!
Hey Germany, we found your U-Boat!
I need a U-boat. Can Hamburg make me one from the old plans? How much would it cost?
