DIY custom solar panel mounts – 180° rotation!!

In this video I am installing custom solar panel brackets on top of my RV, but YOU COULD INSTALL THIS SAME SYSTEM ANYWHERE. I used a super simple method to create a completely adjustable bracket that can rotate up to 90° in both directions.

And the best part? Each bracket cost only $60 Cad (approx $50 usd)!

The available rotation is down to the unfixed nature of the bracket, so for security, be sure to buy some locks to stop people from stealing your panels.

If you find this helpful, give it a big old thumbs up, and hit the sub button if you haven’t already and want to follow along. 😉

  1. Hello from Troutdale,Va.USA. I was either going with wood or unistrut. The wood would not last long, and I was looking at hundreds of $for unistrut. U saved me a lot of 💰. Thanks again .

  2. The amount of ppl saying what a great idea this is, seriously scares me. Wing nuts to secure a solar panel on a moving vehicle? Seriously. They'll vibrate loose over time. Great way to create a potential projectile. Ppl use your brains

  3. Nice try, but you got some things wrong.

    – You don't have 180 degrees of rotation, you have 90 degrees of angle tilt.
    – Those are angle brackets.
    – Steel is a poor long term choice. Aluminum is lighter.
    – Fiberglass on the mounting 4×8 piece of plywood will only work on certain types of roofs, namely fiberglass roofs. Further, I'm not sure it helps much at all, and adds a bunch of weight. Why not fiberglass on aluminum rails to attach your angle brackets to?
    – You have nothing to stop those wing nuts from rattling off, which they will. Lock washers would help.
