  1. I grew up using outhouses, no running water, no air conditioning, and praise the Lord, no computers. It was hard work, even to grow enough food, but we did. Boiled water, limed the outhouse. I never once smelled it.

  2. I grew up using outhouses and many are cleaner than more contemporary bathrooms. I couldn't believe that people washed and brushed their teeth next to where they released their excrement. Still gives me the ick especially when I see toothbrushes hanging in the excrement aerosols.
