  1. Tip to prevent your dumplings from sticking to the pan: if you have one use a pan and not a pot or wok. Heat the pan up and add oil to the pan, making sure the oil is distributed over the pan evenly, and don’t use too much oil. After the pan and oil is hot add the dumplings and let them sit in the pan for a minute before adding the water. Leave the dumplings in the pan with the lid covered, you can tell when it’s done by the tops of the dumplings having slightly softened. Use a spatula, fork, or chopsticks to get under the dumplings and pull them up, depending on if you did it right or not will determine if it sticks or not. Also I’m not too sure if this is exclusively a Japanese invention as my family has always made dumplings this way and we are Chinese. We also use Hexclad pans so I would not blame the company for the dumplings sticking in this case.
