Cannabis, Serotonin, and Tolerance w/ Dr. Miyabe Shields & Chad Westport : Spider Farmer G8600

I’ve teamed up with Dr. Miyabe Shields once again to continue our series discussing concepts surrounding Cannabis and the body.

This episode brings you into the world of the serotonin and dopamine systems and how there is interplay between them and cannabinoids. We discuss retrograde signaling and also why infused salad dressing can turn out to be more than you bargained for.

Today we also discuss the research behind why the โ€œwake and bakeโ€ may hit a little different. We answer the question of how the ECS interacts with other systems involved with our circadian rhythms.

Finally we discuss the science behind tolerance and why the “high school high” may be elusive. We touch on drug testing, homeostasis of the body via the ECS, and we also discuss the best way to find your therapeutic minimum.

If you have a topic you’d like us to cover, please let me know in the comments below! We’d love to hear your questions about cannabis and the body. We literally have a PhD in the house who specialized in this sort of knowledge. Take advantage!

**Recorded in late 2023 as part of the Marijuana and your body series.

  1. Dr. Miyabe is GREAT! I hope you are able to bring her back for more conversations/education.

This is one of those videos that I will have to re-watch, there are so many bits of information that i need time to process them in smaller chunks.
