Bill Gates backed robot processed Covid 19 tests during the pandemic #shorts

In this episode of “NYNext,” take a tour of the Long Island City offices of Opentrons. The multibillion-dollar tech company makes robots that automate workflow for the biopharmaceutical world. CEO Jon Brennan-Badal says it’s all about maximizing human brain power.

“This allows scientists to free up their time to do higher value activities. The value of your PhD is not to be doing a lot of manual activities all day long,” he told The Post’s financial correspondent Lydia Moynihan. It’s no wonder Opentrons’ easy-to-use software has attracted backing from Microsoft legend Bill Gates.

During the COVID pandemic, the cuting-edge company employed 40 robots to vastly speed up the majority of COVID testing for millions of New Yorkers, saving taxpayers billions of bucks. Even better, their Flex robot only costs $7,000 and can be run off a car battery in the field.
