What gauge wire do you use for the panels? looks like a 10 awg. can you verify? Also when making these cables how long can I make them, 50 ft, 100 ft?

I like how you made the process easy with a simple explanation.
Now for myself, I like 5 of the 100 watt Harbor Freight panels wired in parallel, red to red, and black to black, running to a 50 amp charge controller. From there, the power goes to a reconditioned standup forklift battery wired for 12 volts. I have a second 20 amp charge controller with a DC output that I have set up to power a small inverter and a pair of 12 volt DC power points.

Was wondering if the inverter has only 2 AC outlet plugs and we want to run more then 2 AC appliances, can a multiple outlet power adaptor be used, as long as we don't go over the limit of the inverter? Thanks for this video it has helped me decide on a battery style solar setup instead of the solar generator for my home needs.

Increase mini PV solar self-sufficiency (winter and camping): A boiler and other power-hungry consumers can be infinitely reduced using the "5000W dimmer". Ebay €7. I run 5 dimmers in parallel on an 850W inverter. Kettle 2.2KW at 150W runs 12 hours a day, so the water is always hot. The room is also nicely heated. 2.5KW washing machine runs in parallel with dimmed to 200…400W. Iron, dishwasher, oven, electric heater, coffee machine, all internal heating are throttled with me. Videos on my channel https://youtu.be/eC2olbCBhh0 The inverter stays cool, quiet and the MOSFETs + (battery) remain intact because no extreme current peaks arrive at the inverter. Now every Mini PV Inverter is enough to sell large devices. So, with the dimmer, all internal heaters/devices can be converted into base load devices that stay almost permanently ON, drawing very little current directly from the PV. With a wattmeter / energy cost measuring device you can then measure this perfectly in order to set the dimmer optimally.

Small hint: Energy cannot be saved. So if I want to boil my water, I always have to use the same amount of energy for one liter. Christian's method relies on a longer period of time with less power in order to be able to use the power provided by the PV as efficiently as possible – so consumption peaks are intercepted. In the end, the energy consumption should even be (slightly) higher due to the interposition of the dimmer, but it doesn't matter, since more efficient coverage by the PV system and therefore better use of the self-generated energy……………………

Thanks for this video…If occasionally I'll need a 2K watt inverter but most of the time a 500 watt inverter is sufficient, is it worth it economically to buy both inverters but only hook up the 2K watt inverter when I need it? I'm guessing the 2K watt inverter is less efficient and using up more power when not being used or when used with a low wattage load compared to the 500 Watt inverter.

Seems like no one discuses wire sizes from charge controller to the battery or the wire size from the solar panel!😬😬 I want to mount my battery, charge controller & Inverter on my covered back porch but it will be at least 30Ft from my panels! Good info on hook-up but nothing about wire sizes!
