This is filmmaking at its best, the tearing apart of Bishop & his upper torso still being alive was done spectacularly well, it looks so real & all with practical effects & no CGI. Filmmakers were so much more talented in those days, they had to be. Brilliantly made film.
I can imagine the Alien Queen going "You torched my nest, killed my children, and exploded my hive…now you will pay!" since that was exactly what Ripley did.
The first time I saw this as a kid in the 1990s and the Queen Alien was thinking of going after Newt first she definitely wanted to get even with Ripley after Ripley destroyed her whole family as well:).

One thing I like about the queen is you can tell she's MAD. The others are just drones defending the hive but the queen? Her unborn children were killed in front of her, she had her ovipositor destroyed meaning she can't make more, and she's absolutely and utterly pissed

nope he didn't die, i refuse to believe it. Aliens 3 didn't happen, Hicks and Ripley got together and adopted Newt, and Bishop was repaired and became their butler.
My dad showed me this when I was 7… I did not understand the concept of an android or cyborg and very much thought that's what it looked like to see a human get impaled and ripped in half. Thanks, dad.
I saw a version that replaced the white blood with red, it was very gore
