  1. Always makes me laugh when people use xenomorph as the species name for the alien in the Alien movies. Xenomorph is basically synonymous with 'alien' (zeno = other/strange and morph = shape in Greek). When the space marines mention a xenomorph, if that were to mean a particular species, it implies they have dealt with it before, which was clearly not that case.

  2. The most disturbing thing in the Alien Franchise has to be the Fossilised Space Jockey in Alien (1979) .. and I will forevere refuse to believe it's the same as those humanoids in Prometheis. Ridley says so much stuff off the cuff, that 'Canon Worshippers' need to chill out and accept creative contradictions in the lore if it improves future movies.

  4. 4:57 I don't understand your point here. They don't need to be able to see it from where they are on the planet if they are getting the information from an engineer. How would they know the significance of the symbol if they didn't know the engineers somehow?

  5. There is a super bug growing on the ISS and is one of the reasons why nasa wants to scuttle the station as soon as possible. We are talking a visible to the naked eye sized mass of virus cells.

  6. Nearly everybody seems to hate the Alien prequel movies apparently. But I really liked them, especially Prometheus. In fact my top three Alien movies, are the original, Prometheus and Covenant…in that order.

  7. I feel your also being harsh about the conditions of zeta retuculi, keep in mind this was made back in 1979 everything back than was speculation. so they just guessed it might have a gas giant with moons etc. i mean the first real exoplanet was not even found till 1992. so try to be a bit more leniat on the creators in that regard :)

  8. Amazing look at Alien Thanks ! It reminds me of the incredible console games from EA called Dead Space including DS 2 and DS 3 plus some wicked DLC and an animated movie that comes with the original game called Downfall sets the scene. The mix of Alien necro-morphs and interesting engineering challenges throughout the game such as fixing parts of the spaceship and much more. Is like a book you cant put down. I think you might enjoy having a look. I heard a lot of work went into these games especially with the stunning sci-fi horror scenes and the very impressive sounds creation throughout the games are top notch and exciting. You really feel like your there so to speak. I still cant think of any other sci-fi horror game that comes close. I remember in DS 2 it was set on Titan which had great realism. I think it was really well done. Yeah I really hope they would make another Dead Space or very similar game with those hyper realistic sounds and super impressive graphics. with insanely scary necro-morphs and interesting space-scapes.

  9. As a Greek, I must take issue with how "xenomorph" or any word with a "xeno" prefix is pronounced . It is not "Zeeno morf".It is pronounced "ksenomorf" , from the word for Stranger "Ξἐνος"=stranger. Just as the "x" in axe is pronounced "aks", so is x in xenomorph.

  10. I think the idea that a human could just walk around on an exoplanet hosting an ecosystem, first contact, and not die immediately is childishly laughable. The equation is very familiar: a virus/bacteria enters your body and your immune system kicks in. We are of this planet and our immune system is coded for many things of this planet. We develop antibodies for those that are not encoded, if we survive. How many viruses/bacteria are on this planet?

Now think of that on the macro scale of an exoplanet with a completely foreign ecosystem. Your immune system would be overwhelmed, go berserk and you’d be in serious trouble. Forget about dangers of the native fauna, you’d be lucky if they killed you first. The idea that some exoplanet would just accept us is juvenile.

Furthermore the idea that the universe is ours for the taking is arrogant and the effects of that doctrine can be seen on our own planet; dwindling populations of flora and fauna, pollution and climate change.
