2024 has been a hectic year for astronomy, and not only due to James Webb. Unsung heroes have been altering the course of physics without drawing much attention.

  1. YouTube has started filling my recommendations with terrible ai crap videos on subjects that interest me and they are filled with inaccurate information and speculation. It's terribly frustrating and makes me appreciate your channel even more because I have loved watching your content for many years and know that I can trust you to keep giving me the correct information with the bonus of your artistic sensibility that makes it beautiful. No matter what format you choose, I will be there to watch. ❤

  2. This poor guy cut his viewership in half and laughed about it. We told you we enjoyed science and you did your thing. I'm not sorry that you are a joke now. I am sorry for what you could have accomplished if you were able to keep your p3dophile views out of your videos.

  3. If you breathed on an apple, the condensation would be the thickness of our atmosphere. If you had a giant Yoga ball, 11 pages or paper would be all of our crust, 2 pages would be the thickness of the crust under the ocean. We are floating on Lava, with a sliver of atmosphere, our climate i think is more a function of our thermal dissipation then our atmosphere. Theres lava currently spewing into the ocean as we speak (mid Atlantic ridge) without this geologica activity, i dont think we have liquid oceans anymore, they're frozen or dried up. Theres no amount of green house gas effect that will keep this planet warm once the lava stop flowing into our oceans and things really start to cool off. Earths fate is Mars, geological activity ceasing , our water and thin atmosphere disappearing. And it shouldnt be a surprise, this is a cooling ball of burning magma hurdling through space not a magically regenerating ball for life mean to be preseved for life to live on forever. The crust is cooling, and eventually will cool all the way through and we're going to have to dig to follow the shrinking heat of the earths core or find a new planet, just like what the Martians were faced with as the looked up into the sky at a Lava earth and thought, arent they lucky to have a habitable planet, but cant be for long. Hopefully we find a Earth 2.0. Or make space pod cities, independant of needing a planet would be probably what life will do. I tihnk life can evolve to live in 0g, we dont necessarily need gravity.

  4. The completely unnecessary and jarring dig at Elon ‘Musk is the reason why I’m unsubscribing. It wasn’t the first time you’ve let your sixth form politics ooze into your videos and it’s hard to view an astronomy channel seriously when the narrator thinks it’s smart to include his low IQ takes on US politics into a discussion of exoplanets.

  5. How far from Earth can you detect planets with these characteristics.
You are favoring smaller Stars, so there is the tidal lock. We are not at a technology level
yet where you can draw conclusions from what you have found, since your detection is biased to smaller Stars, large planets or planets with shorter periods.

  6. Oh, that's a shame! I really love your annual rundown and look forward to it. But, seen as they are your top news items, and you find it difficult and tedious to do, then maybe that's a sign that therr are no standout events? JWST strikes again!

  7. Seriously, your videos are super nice to listen to. Other videos are loud and obnoxious your videos are peaceful it makes an ambiance i find is unique to you.
