I personally find it utterly impossible that the US Army Air Force could misidentify a weather balloon, of all things, for a flying disk. Almost as unbelievable, is that the public just took their word for it. It has to be one of THE biggest, and most embarrassing, blunders by the US military.
Let's assume we are being visited by an alien species… That means they figured out the speed of light/time/mass speed limit, and not only figured it out theoretically, but then we're capable of figuring out how to put it to practical use to be able to traverse the universe. Pretty advanced and pretty impressive stuff. It also means they have communication capabilities that have to be faster than the speed of light, otherwise how would they know we're here? Homo sapien has only been around for about 200,000 years so on the universal clock we just showed up. Then, homo sapiens who figured out relativity and quantum mechanics has only been about 100 years. The first radio waves/ TV transmissions that left the planet Earth was less than that. With our current knowledge that most stars have planets, how did they find us?. If there's any intelligent life just in our own Galaxy, most of them would be seeing dinosaurs right now. So for a species that is so advanced that even detected us, let alone get here, why would they give a s*** about us? Compared to them, where an amoeba. Intelligence wise, we are closer to ants, then we are to them. And if they are here, why do they waste their time spooking military pilots? If they've broken the speed of light barrier, why do they need aircraft that is even detectable? Speaking of which, these alien ships should have to register with the FAA because they crashed their ships more than we crash airplanes. So… What we have aretwo choices… "Unidentified" means exactly that, but nothing alien. Or, choice 2, we are being visited by aliens who have nothing better to do then to tease a species that is completely ignorant and prone to conspiracies. Now that's one hell of a sense of humor. Time travelers from our future, though impossible to us now, would be more plausible.
Hands down Nick Pope brings the most legitimacy, in my eyes anyways…his previous decades of work can't be dismissed
