If you voted for Donald Trump believing his tariff policies would revive American manufacturing, it’s worth reflecting on the results. Trump proudly declared his love for tariffs, treating them like a magic solution—despite lacking a coherent economic strategy or an understanding of global supply chains.
Now, the consequences are clear: *higher consumer prices, retaliatory trade wars, and no meaningful resurgence in U.S. factory jobs.* Instead of bringing back industrial glory, Trump’s tariffs *taxed American businesses and consumers* while enriching a handful of politically connected industries. Worse, his erratic trade wars **damaged relationships with allies**, empowering China and other competitors.
Voters trusted a man who played a "tough negotiator" on TV but governed by impulse, *undermining America’s economic credibility in the process.* The fallout—lost markets, weakened alliances, and a more unstable global trade system—will linger long after his presidency.
History won’t remember Trump’s tariffs as economic genius, but as *self-inflicted wounds* driven by bluster rather than strategy. Those who enabled this disaster should ask themselves: Was it worth it?
April 2nd was a very important day for the US. Now it's going to develop and rebuild many companies, factories, industries, agriculture, mining, energy, technology, etc., as it should. In a few months, we'll see a very good economic recovery. The anti-American, pro-Chinese Democrats destroyed the jobs of ordinary people. Their supporters put them in the federal government. Education is at its lowest level in history.
Also, tariffs should have been higher, but that can be corrected. This was a very good start.
There were countries that sent poisoned fruit to the US, the same with clothing, etc.
The US can make the best cars in the world. Tesla is one of those car brands, very good and modern.
The good thing is that we can make everything we need. The dependence on other countries is the worst. If all clothing were made in China, they would poison our clothes with some disease and the entire population would be affected. That can't be. China needs to raise tariffs even more, just like India and other Asian countries.
Thank you very much, Mr. President Donald Trump, the best President in world history.
Excellent interview, thank you.
After the horrible economy over the past 4 years I'll give Trump a chance to take this gamble.
If things become worse by next year Republicans will be in for a rough midterm.
If it works out and the economy is booming Trump will be a hero.
He didn’t go to a job interview.
Every thing Trump does is the best, greatest, and most successful on history, the world and the universe. He keeps repeating it, but no one believes him (besides himself)Trump pays the budget deficit (from overspending) with other people”s money
Tariffs may not be forever but the inflation it created is permanent. Thank Trump-Krasnov and Musk for your inflation.
Who pays more for goods when they have tariffs? The rich or the poor?
Guess what they pay the same that’s why the RICH can shrug it off it affects the less rich middle class and poor far more. God help y’all for buying into this crap he’s making you poor so he can control you. Taxes affect the rich tariff affects the poor Pretty simple to understand
Good luck with your 401k everyone!
Do you know the TV Western star who played "The Thing?
Let's COMPARE: Ever heard of Val Kilmer? —– Now, EVER HEARD OF Doris Day? M — How about JOHN WAYNE? —- lastly, EVER HEARD OF Leonard Nimoy?
While you're at it, read "TOWER OF GLASS."
Sorry. Start with "CAVES OF STEEL." I ROBOT is the sequel to this.
Read "I Robot," the actual BOOK, by Isaac Asimov, then also read the firs sequel. (DO NOT SELY ON THA STUPID WILL SMIH MOVIE! – I STINKS)
More Lies……reality is EVERYTHING WILL COST MORE
BUY THE DIP AND HOLD
Tariffs in 2017 were a failure.
Trump and Musk will be repeating the same mistake which is deliberate because they want to create a recession that will benefit them.
So Mark you voted against codifying DOGE foreign aide spending cuts??? Why?🧐
Hell freaking NO!! No AI robots in our house.
I feel republicans should stop attacking Canada. And maybe start apologizing to them. They didn't deserve this.
Common senator hahah y’all hear his answer for speaking cherekeee haha
Kilmer said in an interview that he did say "Huckleberry" but "Huckle bearer" makes more sense.
!!Alert!! Fox News brainwashing in progress…common sense & common decency are strictly prohibited… ;)
Поздравляем американцев с новым праздником – 'ДЕНЬ ИЗОЛЯЦИИ'
Stop being lied to. Here is the truth:
Both the US and Canada use a system of tariffs for dairy products that includes two elements, 'Tariff Rate Quotas' (TRQs) and 'Over-Quota Tariffs! TRQs indicate an amount of product that can enter the country at low tariff rates (or, in the case of US dairy products to Canada, generally zero tariffs).
It is worth noting that the TRQs on American dairy products are an exception rather than the norm. The USDA website states that under both the USMCA and NAFTA, "almost all agricultural products traded between the United States and Canada “FACE NO TARIFFS OR QUOTAS.”
The International Dairy Foods Association, a lobbying group that advocates on behalf of the U.S. dairy industry, said in a March 7 statement that "the U.S. has never gotten close to exceeding our USMCA quotas."
There should be no due process of the law when you come here and ignore the law.
Companies already trying to bend over shipping companies to pay for the tariffs. Passing them on to customers means little, no or low sells.
We were thinking about retiring now who knows, how liberating
I hear their coming out with a surrogate "AI house wife", she can nag in 23 different languages…
😅
Everyone used to say the Russians are coming
“Liberation Day” is a trump euphemism for “get ready to pay higher prices, all you suckers and losers who voted for me.” Time to find out how stupid and hypocritical you all are. You spent years screeching like banshees about how higher prices were Biden’s fault. Now trump is TELLING YOU he’s raising prices on EVERYTHING and you hypocrites are all, “we have to make sacrifices for Dear Leader.” You’re in a cult of stupid. Get out of my country.
Everyone used to say the Russians are coming
I don’t know you people are freaking out about robots because it will never happen you will be dead and gone
Yay! It's liberation day! Say good-bye to your 401Ks and IRAs! Good job fox/maga!
I was born in Oklahoma but never really connected
