Our science has evolved using information primarily from the surface of our planet as it is the most easily accessible. Therefore our information is surface biased. Sure, we have found fossils, sediment chronology etc but we have really only "scratched the surface" both literally and figuratively regarding sub surface science. Many new random discoveries deep in the Earth's crust have shown the remnants of other civilizations but do not fit into our surface biased paradigm and so are quickly rejected. There needs to be a dedicated a science that focuses on subterranean exploration and use in the context of complete science.
