Please add one more panel, my OCD isn't accepting it not being 3 on top and 3 on bottom lol
Nice solar additions to your shop. I saw you lost your banner or flag that was above the storage closet.
He is…. You learning???
Mc4 connectors are water resistant not proof. Keep them out of potential puddle spots
Hi, Andrew! Thought you might want to know this: Hooked on Pickin found a way to get around the vertical screen, but I certainly don’t understand how they did it. They are easy to communicate with through their “Contact Me” section of their website. If you haven’t already found a way to maneuver around it, they will tell you what they did. If I know you, you have already managed to find a way.
One interesting thing about the solar industry, right now, is there are a lot of different classes of materials available for DIYers to work with. I am personally not a fan of the Ecoworthy line of products. They are almost universally lower quality, lower cost products that just don't deliver the kind of performance I want for my money. Maybe their stuff is getting better, and I know tons of things are made by the same handful of companies, but Ecoworthy is a line I just can't get excited about.
Brother, I just want to thank you for your content.
When starlink wouldn’t work here due to obstructions, and there being literally no landline broadband or fiber options available, I gave up. However… God pointed me to your channel as well as another guy on here a few days ago and for the first time in my life I’m seeing download speeds of 275 avg with spikes as high as nearly 400 on T-Mobile 5G home internet. Upload isn’t all that great, but I can fix that with a waveform which I also learned of thanks to you.
Dude, I watched YouTube vids at 4k earlier. Those who don’t understand just haven’t been in these shoes. Thank you, man, and God bless you and yours ❤
In previous videos you talked about cleaning the solar panels, will you have to get on roof to clean?
You can get 0 hole roof kits for certain metal sheet roofing they clamp onto the ridges
Awesome video, Andrew! Your solar setup is looking great, especially with the bifacial and monofacial panels working together. Given that you're planning more winter work with all that equipment and additional fans, it's crucial to have reliable power even in colder conditions. If you ever need to store or use power when the temperatures drop, you might want to consider self-heating lithium batteries like our Enjoybot 12V 200Ah models. They ensure efficient charging and performance in freezing weather, perfect for keeping your barn powered all year round. Keep up the great work!
What I've learned is that the ladder stayed in place this time, lol! What about hail protection of the panels on the roof?
I would honestly test real residential installer / solar farm
Grade UL listed panels like Hanwha / Canadian solar /
Panasonic / REC solar 535 watt panels.
Much cheaper and easier. Some of those are $0.30/watt.
Just 4 of those large panels will get ya over 2kW.
For less than what you paid for those 2kw of panels you could of had 4kw of panels shipped and taxed from signature solar.
Great video, but you will wish you had a 6th panel on some days.
Hey Andrew thanks to you I've done some of this stuff now! Just wanted to offer up a tiny thing, you showed how the cable "clicks" when you shove it into the connector. Did you also realize that when you screw down the two pieces of the MC4 connector to make it waterproof, it also will click once you torque it down enough with that tool. Just thought I'd share!
Andrew you forgot to put the banner and flag back up
Andrew how much would you say it cost you to get all the power you now have? Cheaper than electrical?
Get a temp on the roof ones.
Is your roof to the chopshop grounded by bonding to wire ran to ground rod?
Hi Andrew, nice job. Love the cord reel and fans.
👀👀
Hi, Andrew! Excellent video. Did you see my message about the change in format for livestreams on YouTube that started Monday? I left it in a comment on your review channel. They will be vertical just like the “shorts.”
Did you end up switching the inputs off camera? I thought the ground-based bifacials were on PV1 and the new roof panels were on PV2 when you first hooked up the roof panels. Not jumping on ya here by asking (in case it was just a mistake), just wanting to clarify as I'm learning. Thanks Andrew!
Hey there! How do you balance the amount of solar panels versus the amount of battery storage? One could have 100 solar panels and one battery and it would be wasted energy on sunny days but would be a benefit on long periods of cloudy days. Maybe I’m overthinking my system. Thanks for the content.
Solar is kind of like buying a computer. The technology changes so fast you have buyer's remorse.
Good day to all.
I’m a big fan too!
Awesome to be able to add more power to your set up Andrew. What's preventing you from going fully solar at the house with batteries? I'm guessing cost most likely. Also, does your electric company allow you to send power back to the grid?
Is the paddock on the shed key code A389
Love this, wasnt crazy about you on the ladder and roof without a spotter but maybe next time
Hi Andrew, I don’t need any solar but enjoy your video, it’s a learning process.👍👍❤️❤️🇨🇦
