11,000 Years OLDER than Göbekli Tepe: 23,000-Year-Old Settlement & Early Cultivation?!

There’s an archaeological site in Northern Israel, situated on the southwestern shore of the Sea of Galilee and it’s one of the most fascinating and important ancient sites that hardly anyone has ever heard of.

It’s one of the best-preserved hunter-gatherer sites of the Last Glacial Maximum, yes, we’re talking about a site 23,000 years old.

It’s called Ohalo II, and it wasn’t a mere seasonal camp, it was a permanent settlement, occupied throughout the year – and for many generations, which, in the current state of knowledge, is somewhat unique for a site so old.

But it’s what was discovered at the site that makes it so incredible. It contains two things that today, with the current level of research, can be called the ‘world’s oldest’.

Firstly, it has the world’s oldest brush dwellings, but also, and most importantly, it contains evidence of the world’s oldest small-scale plant cultivation, some 11,000 years before the onset of agriculture in the Fertile Crescent.

Watch this video to learn more about Ohalo II, a settlement 11,000 years older than Göbekli Tepe, and the evidence for ice age farming – and planting the seeds of civilization.

  1. CARBON DATING IS PURE CONJECTURE FROM PEOPLE WHO WILL NEVER ADMIT THAT THERE WRONG….SMITHSONIAN HAS DESTROYED ALL THE REAL HISTORY OF THIS WORLD….PEOPLE ARE WAKING UP AND SEEING THE DISCREPANCIES….OVER 95% OF DINOSAUR BONES ARE FAKE IN MUSEUM'S.

  2. Many sites such as Ohalo II which are situated in conflict zones are not talked about due to long pauses in research. Most archaeologists don't work on sites if they are dangerous.

  3. Where as I am happy for the wonderful information. I am so disappointed in the laziness of people who use automated voiceover. Whatever happened to real hard work and creativity.

  4. There is NO evidence to suggest that this settlement is anywhere near as old as they say. Where are the Palaeolithic type flakes? Where are the remains of Pleistocene creatures? Everything suggests this is a Mesolthic settlement, and therefore properly dated after the Younger Dryas. I sometimes think archaeologists postulate older and older finds in order to generate publicity and money for their work.

  5. Excellent video. And you are right in that Ohalo does seem to get overlooked. Have you read After the Ice: A Global Human History 20,000-5000 BC by Steven Mithen. Its quite old now but the first book that delves into the subject of the. earliest settlements Prof Mithen is a leading light on the subject and highly respected.

  6. So if we were so advanced already, and then built Gobekli Tepe in stones, what happened in-between that made the Vinča culture in Serbia/Balkans (5400-4500BC) build in wood? But then stil kickstart the Copper smelting. Is it just that wood is easier to work with? Is there a connection between the two? Did the people in Modern day Turkey leave and go to the Balkans?🤔

  7. Really interesting – I wonder what is to be made of all the settlements they are discovering in the Amazon rain forest? Wonder how old they are? Is the flint here local??

  8. If the Ohalo ll people were practicing agriculture at such an early date then other people musthave been doing the same.
Perhaps ancient agriculture was a lot more widespread than weve been led to believe.

They must have been taught by someone?

  9. Robert Schoch and Graham Hancock have been attempting to provide the Societie du Archaeologie proof for decades. Even US Universities were slow to admit physical evidence. Now they have no choice and have lost credibility. Entire communities have been discovered and dated within C-14’s range, (25,000 years).

  10. I never believed that the Clovis were the first people in the America's, and I was right..I don't believe that those sites in Turkey were the first civilizations, and I believe farming and pottery using civilizations are far, far older than people think..There are infinite more sites that can/will be found around the planet..Of course the older they are, the less evidence of there existence remains..And guessing about these people's behavior because of the way things were found is ridiculous..There are many different possibilities and explanations for the evidence left behind..These people could have been farming for sure..

  11. I appreciate your episodes…but you do need realistic imagery–not the unrealistic "Ally Ooop" images. Caucasians did not live like the Australian or African Aborigines without clothing or tools. They wore–fully covered, well sewn clothing. There was an ice age–no "prehistoric" age. Then came the Neolithic–the Bronze-age. Caucasian people (not Aborigines) forged and smelted iron. There was no so-called "iron-age." Why? Because people always had iron. They recycled rustable metals, therefore no residual left overs. There are archaic iron objects–quite large in fact. The iron comes mixed with quartzlike glass. It is in granite which produces iron which becomes beach sand when it dries-out. You need to update your knowledge by dropping Darwin's complete lack of any knowledge of nature and science which they did not appear to have in his day. They taught that worms combusted from dirt/soil, and that black people evolved from monkeys. Now it's white people, and all sprouted and came out of Africa, made-up by Marxists to keep people ignorant. His so-called "evolution" is a laughing-stock item.

Caucasians may have lived in well engineered and cut under-ground homes during the ice-ages. Where else? They made certain not to be overpopulated, and also built labyrinths of tunnels under Europe, the middle-east and Asia, etc. You need to go back further than Egypt. The oldest, original pyramids and stone block structures are in Russia and China–the northern (still cold or freezing) Hyperborean (Hibernian) hemisphere–not in Africa or on the Mediterranean which was originally just a rivulet. The Baltic sea hosts the 219 foot circular anomaly covered with a several inch thick "pitch" made of a plaster of IRON ORE with a canal leading down to an "island" of two mounds with stairs leading to the tops on their sides, with the canal from the anomaly running in between. The anomaly may have been a fountain atop a spring. Perhaps a mausoleum. The ancient belief was to go to some mystical Island in the sun in a ship or boat for one's eternity. Even Kufu's pyramid is an artificial mountain sitting atop a spring, A Sun boat is included.

  12. Not buying it,giving hebrews the chance to claim they were there before Israelites, very convinient.and to suggest they predated turkeys human development is suspicious.may have been an offshoot, but not prior to gobekli tepe. You need to understand the historic disputes between hegre3s and Israelites before swallowing this.

  13. Why burnt your hut down in a ritual ceremony with a single upturned bowl? Is there evidence that the people were a tribe of weirdos? Or perhaps rather more likely was they got raided, their stuff got nicked, and they buggered off. "Experts", eh?

  14. Wow! Thank you for this! I have one BIG question. How did they keep the hut floors from filling with water during heavy rain? Why make a depression in the rock. Why not just make a ring of rocks that can hold out the rain water, especially in heavy rain when water flowed over the ground? I would love to know the answer to this. Anyway, thank you again. This is awesome news!
